Scholarships

The following students received scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2010-2011 school year:

* Elizabeth Martinez of Jackson received a President's Scholarship.

* Chelsea Paul of Chaffee, Mo., received a Regents' Scholarship.

* Quitman McBride III of Cape Girardeau received a Missouri Leadership Award and a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship.

* Shawna K. Shockley of Cape Girardeau and Tessa Smith of Jackson received a President's Scholarship and a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship.

* Katie A. Beaton of Cape Girardeau received a President's Plus Scholarship and a Missouri Leadership Award.

* Tara G. Meyer of Cape Girardeau received a President's Scholarship, a Girl's State Leadership Award and a Missouri Leadership Award.

* Stephanie K. Howard of Jackson received a Governor's Scholarship.

* Logan R. Clippard of Jackson received a President's Scholarship, a Missouri Leadership Award and a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship.

Honors, achievements

* Patrick Duffy and Nicole Gaither of Cape Girardeau were named to the fall 2009 dean's list at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.

* Lauren Bader of Chaffee, Mo., was named to the fall 2009 dean's list at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.

* Denzil J. Brown of Cape Girardeau Central High School earned the Eagle Scout rank. His project was laying a new walkway in the Prayer Garden at LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
