With the arrival of spring comes warmer air, green grass and spring sports. But as sports are picking up with practices and games, many clubs are finishing their seasons.
In early spring students begin practicing for various sports such as baseball, softball, track and soccer and not too much later they are having games. Students are constantly having practice and getting ready for that next game.
But at the same time, it seems rather conveniently, many clubs are beginning to wind down for the year. With big projects and competitions already behind them, many clubs are just now looking forward to end-of-the-year trips or banquets, one last big competition, and assigning officers and recruiting members for the next school year.
I suppose for those students who are involved in both sports and clubs it is convenient for it to work out that way. They are not completely swamped year-round and get a little bit more time to breathe between school, sports, clubs, homework and work.
But it doesn't only apply to extracurricular activities; many classes are now beginning to reach the final chapters of their text books and are preparing for end-of-the-year exams and AP tests.
I'm rather sad many clubs are winding down, but happy that in some of my hardest classes that require the largest textbooks that we're almost done reading through it. I feel that students need not think too much of the end of the school year and should enjoy the point of the year they are at now; of course we students still need to do our homework and not procrastinate just because it's getting close to the end of the year. So, to my fellow students, I wish you good luck in your clubs, sports and school work.
