~ Jackson home's green accents offer country coziness
The laughter of children is heard at noon from the playground at Jackson Middle School.
Rough red pebbles cluster near the curved concrete walk to the porch, and evergreen branches point to the bay window. Forest green shutters set off earth-colored brick and muted light green siding.
Double doors to the right walk into the lower level. In the backyard stand a double-decker wooden play house, a swing, a ladder and a yellow slide. The reddish wooden deck reaches around the back of the house.
Entering the front door, past a small area of parquet flooring, neutral carpeting extends from the living room down the hall.
On the left, the living room has a vaulted ceiling, neutral carpeting and a bay window to the front. Turning right into the hall, the first door to the left is the kitchen and dining area with door and window in back to the deck.
Dividing kitchen and dining area is a cooking island containing double stainless steel sinks, wooden cabinets and a built-in dishwasher. To the left is the refrigerator hook-up next to blond cabinets and forest green counter tops. The cabinet in the corner contains glass windows in the door.
A white stove with microwave above is flanked by more blond cabinets. The vinyl floor is neutral-colored with forest green corner accents in the squares.
Near the kitchen, a huge walk-in pantry is equipped with white, plastic-coated wire shelving.
Next are the stairs to the basement, and then the master suite opens up with vaulted ceiling and lighted ceiling fan. Windows are in back and on one side; the door on the left is to a linen closet.
On the right is the door to the long and narrow master bath, with two white porcelain sinks. In the master bath is the deep walk-in closet with two separate doors. In back are the white toilet, shower with opaque glass door, and tub with white tile and wooden in-lay sides.
Two additional bedrooms have wallpaper borders, the blue one with baseballs and the pink one with little girls and flowers. Both have neutral carpeting, large closets with folding doors and light fixtures with ceiling fans.
The hall bathroom contains a combined shower and bath and a single sink with three make-up lights. The commode has a wooden lid to match the cabinets and towel racks, and light colored vinyl covers the floor.
The partially finished basement contains a bathroom is finished with 12-inch tile flooring, a shower, wooden cabinetry and a marble sink and counter.
In addition to the bathroom are several separate rooms. Two large rooms on either side of the stairs could be recreation, family or living rooms. Three additional rooms could serve as offices, storage areas or bonus bedrooms. Two of them have closets. One is a little alcove.
Electricity is installed in the basement, and the water heater is enclosed with a door under the stairs.
