Dr. Janet Bass Smith, former organist at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, will perform a solo piano recital at the church at 5 p.m. April 2. The program,"All Kinds of Birds," includes piano compositions that pay tribute to birds. Smith will show a photograph of a particular bird, play a recording of the bird's call, and then play a composition related to that species. Smith currently maintains an independent piano studio in Bowling Green, Ky. For more information, contact St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Livingstone 124, a contemporary Christian music group, will perform at Grace United Methodist Church Sunday at 10:30 a.m. This group, which includes members from Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri, is the first in a series of six forms of emerging worship to be attempted once per month from March through August.
