June is National Candy Month, so here are five reasons to take advantage:
1 Chocolate: Who doesn't like chocolate and what doesn't chocolate -- in all its varieties -- make better?
2 Having a month for candy is like having permission to eat all the candy you try to stay away from during the other 11 months of the year.
3 Eat the good stuff -- none of the fruit, cream or fruit-crème-filling stuff -- with chocolate. Nuts, raisins, coconut, caramel. Partake of that stuff.
4 Peppermint patties.
5 Chocolate-covered pretzels. You notice there's no hard candy here. I might add peppermints, though, especially the barrel shaped ones.
