Pfc. Edward Pigg of Cape Girardeau recently completed his military training to become an infantryman for Missouri National Guard's Company C, 1/138th Infantry Regiment in Perryville, Mo. He graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Ga., earlier this month. Before training, Pigg served with Company E of the Recruit Sustainment Program in Cape Girardeau. Through the program, he learned basic Army skills and values and became more familiar with his role as a soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard. Pigg will begin serving with his new unit in January. Pigg is the son of Edward Pigg of Kokomo, Ill., and Rita Coluis of Chester, Ill. He is a student at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
