The Buzzi Unicem USA Cape Girardeau Cement Plant recently honored four employees for reaching 20 years with the company. Edward Vandeven, Frank "Chuck" Bertrand, John Heisserer and David Robert all were recognized for their years of service.
Debi Meeds, CEO of the Greater Ozarks chapter of the American Red Cross, recently mobilized to provide continued relief to victims of Superstorm Sandy in New York City. Meeds previously deployed to Joplin, Mo., to help provide tornado relief.
Tom Mogelnicki, executive director of Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority, was elected president of the Missouri Public Transit Association for 2013. Mogelnicki has served as transit authority director since 2006.
Cynthia Paul was named human resources coordinator at Cape Girardeau Public Schools. Her primary responsibilities will be matching the right individuals with the positions to ensure students receive the best education. She previously was employed by Southeast Missouri State University as human resources coordinator. Paul has 26 years of experience and holds a bachelor's degree in human environmental studies from Southeast and master's degrees in business administration and human resources management from University of Phoenix.
Dr. Justin D. Floyd, medical oncologist and hematologist at Cape Medical Oncology at Saint Francis Medical Center, will begin seeing patients at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Mo. Floyd will provide outpatient consultations and the administration of chemotherapy in an effort to provide Perry County cancer patients with increased access to technological advances and clinical expertise.
