Taylor Palmer plays the lead role in Notre Dame Regional High School's fall production of "And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank."
The play, which started Thursday and continues today and Saturday at 8 p.m., uses video from two friends of Anne Frank to tell their experiences during the Holocaust. The students act out flashbacks and scenes described on the screen.
Name: Taylor Palmer
Age: 15
Grade: Ninth at Notre Dame Regional High School
She's involved in: Encore, Backstage Blue and the Fall Play
Why she's in this play: I have always been interested in drama and saw this as a great opportunity to expand my knowledge on stage. I love that jittery feeling you get when you are preparing to go on stage to show everyone what you are capable of.
Taylor's never been in a play before, so what does she think of this one? This is my first show and I absolutely love it! The people in the cast and crew are the coolest people in the world to word with. I feel so honored to be able to tell a story that needs to be told through acting. I wouldn't have it any other way!
What she does when she's not in the limelight: When I'm not on stage, I usually try to focus myself and get into character as best I can. I have to often remind myself to breathe and relax for the next scene!
While Taylor plays the lead role in the play, she's not in her favorite scene. My favorite scene would have to be the opening scene where the whole Nazi youth is speaking in unison, and it truly shows how much of an influence Hitler had on the young children in his army.
