Nearly 200 Saint Francis Auxilians and volunteers were honored at the annual volunteer breakfast in recognition of the support they provide for Saint Francis Medical Center. Each year, volunteers supply a work force of more than 300 people who donate 67,000 hours and generate an additional $165,000 for the hospital. Lori Wills was named the 2009 Auxilian of the Year. Wills began volunteering at Saint Francis in 1989 and has given more than 7,500 volunteer hours, served as Auxiliary president and chair of the Saint Francis Foundation and Auxiliary Scholarship Committee. In 2007, she established the Earl Jr. and Lori Wills Memorial Scholarship as a tribute to her husband. Wills taught special-needs children for 30 years at Egyptian Elementary School in Tamms, Ill., and has served as a Girl Scout leader. She is currently a hospice volunteer and, as a member of General Federation of Women's Clubs Scope Club, she raises funds for Missouri Girls Town.
