Jacob Thompson was awarded a Boy Scouts of America National Certificate of Merit at a recent troop court of honor. Thompson and Aaron Shive, both 11 years old, were partners during the Scouting for Food last November. When Aaron tripped and cut his head on a set of brick steps, Jacob remained calm and assisted the leader in caring for Aaron. Jacob used his neckerchief to control the bleeding until Jackson emergency medical technicians arrived. The injury required six stitches.
