Hi, My name is Dylan Hackler. I am a seventh-grader at Scott City Junior High. I am working at receiving the Eagle Scout award for Troop 5 out of Cape Girardeau. I am currently working on star. In order to do this, part of my requirements is to summit a letter to a local newspaper for the communications merit badge.
I am here to talk about Boy Scouts. Boy Scouts is a fun place where boys can make new friends and fun activities. You can earn ranks, which are Scout, Tender Foot, 2nd class, 1st class, star (which I am currently working on), Life Scout and the Eagle Scout. It is very challenging and rewarding.
My uncle and my grandparents inspired me to join Boy Scouts. My cousin just received the rank of Eagle Scout and is working on many palms.
We take many trips such has camping trips, hiking, scuba diving, rock climbing and many more. We have summer camps every June which allows us to earn more merit badges.
I joined with my best friend Garrett Auer, who is currently working on the same communication merit badge that I am.
Thanks.
DYLAN HACKLER, Troop 5, Scott City
