n Sarah Green of Whitewater has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University. A graduate of New Salem Baptist Academy at Marble Hill, Mo., she is the daughter of Rick and Dorothy Green.

n Weston Page of Oran, Mo., has been awarded a Governor's Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University. A graduate of Advance High School, he is the son of Gavin and Allison Page.

n Angelica Roussel, Rachel Burnett, Garrett Gunning, Raymond Harp, all of Cape Girardeau; Jonathan Boyer of Jackson, Nathan Stroder of Whitewater, Aaron McElrath of Millersville, Brittany Ditto of Benton, Mo.; Tara Propst and Sarah Lowery, both of Chaffee, Mo.; and Darla Johnston of Scott City have been awarded Missouri Assessment Program scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University. Johnston and Lowery also received Missouri Leadership awards. Roussel, Burnett, Gunning and Harp are graduates of Cape Girardeau Central High School. Roussel is the daughter of Christine Roussel. Burnett is the daughter of Carola Burnett of Cape Girardeau and Jay Burnett of Jackson. Gunning is the son of Michael and Nancy Gunning. Harp is the son of Rodger and Patricia Harp. Boyer, a graduate of Jackson High School, is the son of James and Renee Boyer. Stroder, a graduate of Delta High School, is the son of Bonnie Stroder. McElrath is a graduate of Jackson High School. Ditto, a graduate of Kelly High School, is the daughter of Jeff and Karla Ditto. Propst and Lowery are graduates of Chaffee High School. Propst is the daughter of Karen and David Glueck of Chaffee and Billy and Lynn Propst of Gordonville. Lowery is the daughter of Dwayne and Julie Lowery. Johnston, a graduate of Scott City High School, is the daughter of Terry and Darlene Johnston.

n Haley Bohnert of Cape Girardeau and Arthur Lindman of Jackson have been awarded Missouri Leadership awards to attend Southeast Missouri State University. Bohnert and Lindman are graduates of Notre Dame Regional High School. She is the daughter of Jeff and Tammy Bohnert. He is the son of Kevin and Marlene Lindman. Andrew Glueck of Scott City has been awarded a Boys State Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University. A graduate of Scott City High School, he is the son of Paul and Charla Glueck.

n Melissa Jenkins, daughter of Violet and Gary Dietiker of Cape Girardeau, has graduated from Collin College in Phoenix, as salutatorian with a bachelor of art degree in graphic design.

New Madrid teacher wins Wal-Mart grant

Carolyn Keesee of Scott City, an elementary school teacher at New Madrid Elementary School in New Madrid, Mo., has been named local Teacher of the Year by the Sikeston Wal-Mart Supercenter. She received a $1,000 grant for the school, a $100 gift card to buy classroom supplies, a Teacher of the Year polo shirt and a personalized certificate.
