Eleven Southeast Missouri State University students were awarded scholarships March 30 at the annual Power of Women luncheon at the Show Me Center. The recipients included: Tracie Beard of Iuka, Illinois; Destiny Brooks of Perryville, Missouri; Noel Burke of Cape Girardeau; Jo Cougill of Jackson; Amanda Edgar of Portageville, Missouri; Ashley Gettinger of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; Laura Kaimann of Cape Girardeau; Lauren Potje of Shiloh, Illinois; Karen Souza Muramatsu of Cape Girardeau; and Abigail Sowash of Highland, Illinois. The recipient of the inaugural Women's Walk Endowed Scholarship was Riley Hayes of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Elizabeth Baylor of Oak Ridge was awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award to assist with the cost of attendance at Southeast Missouri State University in the fall. Baylor will be a 2016 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and is the daughter of Terry and Angela Baylor of Oak Ridge.
