Students earn scholarships

Several local students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University. Jennica Miller, Collin Nicks and Megan Tenkhoff, all of Jackson, and Caitlyn Hays, Taylor Hoehn and Jasmyn Mahathath, all of Perryville, Missouri, have received the Residence Life Leadership Award. Miller, the daughter of Chad and Jennifer Miller of Jackson, and Nicks, the son of Matt Nicks of St. Louis and Kyle and Melinda Held of Jackson, will be 2017 graduates of Jackson High School. Tenkhoff, the daughter of Darrin Tenkhoff of Oran, Missouri, and Pam Tenkhoff of Jackson, will be a 2017 graduate of Oran High School. Hays, the daughter of Tamie Hays of Perryville, Hoehn, the daughter of Mark and Mina Hoehn of Perryville, and Mahathath, the daughter of Melissa Lankford of Orlando, Florida, will be 2017 graduates of Perryville High School.

Southeast finishes first in MBA Case Competition

Southeast Missouri State University finished first among nine teams in the inaugural Show-Me MBA Case Competition. Bobbie Dampier, Brett Kazandjian, Harman Malhi and Kayla Ray represented Southeast and won the $5,000 first-place prize. In addition, Kazandjian won Best Presenter, while Malhi won Best Q&A.
