Scholarships

* Mattie J. Wilhite of Old Appleton received a Regents' Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2010-2011 academic year.

* The annual Ruth A. Buckhannon Memorial RN Scholarship will be awarded to a 2010 graduating senior of any public high school in Scott County who plans to be a registered nurse. The scholarship is $4,000. For applications and guidelines, call the Chaffee High School counselor, Brandi Ritter, at 573-887-3226. Application deadline is April 22.

Honors, achievements

* Sam Sander of Jackson was named to the fall dean's list at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

* James Jewell Jr. of Cape Girardeau was named to the fall dean's list of West Kentucky Community and Technical College in Paducah, Ky.
