Scholarships

n Tiffany Amelunke of Chaffee, Mo.; Beth Strong and Anne-Marie Bernhardt, both of Cape Girardeau; Andrea Barnes and Stephen Thurman, both of Jackson; Benjamin Beel of Leopold, Mo.; and Erica Michelsen of Oran, Mo., have been awarded Regents' and Missouri Assessment Program scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2007 to 2008 academic year. Amelunke, a senior at Delta High School, is the daughter of Diane and Wesley Amelunke of Chaffee. Strong, a senior at Jackson High School, is the daughter of Rock and Dawn Strong of Cape Girardeau. Bernhardt, a senior at Central High School, is the daughter of Barry and Laurie Bernhardt of Cape Girardeau. Barnes, a senior at Jackson High School, is the daughter of Kim and Brian Barnes of Jackson. Thurman, a senior at Jackson High School, is the son of Mike and Sherry Yaeger of Jackson and Steve and Tammy Thurman of Dexter, Mo. Beel, a senior at Leopold High School, is the son of Kevin and Cindy Beel of Leopold. Michelsen, a senior at Oran High School, is the daughter of Eric and Valerie Michelsen of Oran.

Erica Michelsen

• Emily Henderson of Delta; Jessica Johnston, Sara Meystedt, Robin Phelps and Stacy Vogel, all of Cape Girar-deau; and Andrew Lanpher of Advance, Mo., were named to the fall semester dean's list at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. Henderson, Meystedt, Vogel and Lanpher had perfect 4.0 grade point averages during the fall semester.
• Kathleen Domian of Cape Girardeau was named to the fall semester dean's list at Miami University of Ohio.
• Nathan Bragg of Cape Girardeau has been named to the fall semester dean's list at Boston University.

Extra Credit

n Dr. Richard Massie, vice president for student and administrative services at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill., was named one of 10 outstanding graduates at the University of Florida. Massie attended the University of Florida from 1999 to 2003 and earned a doctorate in higher education administration.

Tiffany Amelunke

• The Oak Ridge School District will hold its kindergarten screening and enrollment March 27 at the First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the school at 266-3232 after March 1. Children eligible for kindergarten must be present at time of enrollment. Parents should bring immunization records, birth certificates, Social Security cards and proof of residency to enroll their children.
