Students honored for academics

Mikaela Johnson of Perryville, Missouri, has been named to the fall 2016 dean's list at University of Iowa.

Chelsea Hastings of Cape Girardeau and William Allen of Jackson have been named to the fall 2016 president's list at the University of Alabama.

The following local students have been named to the fall 2016 president's list at Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri: Lauren Buerck, Elizabeth Hosler, Kadison Orenstein and Noah Smentkowski of Cape Girardeau; Brock Hammers and Zachary Vogel of Jackson; and Kaitlyn Chotrow, Katherine Mattingly and Ashley Moll of Perryville.

Students awarded scholarships

Several local students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Darren Ernst of Perryville, Missouri, has received the Regents' Scholarship. Ernst is the son of Timothy and Bonnie Ernst of Perryville and will be a 2017 graduate of St. Vincent High School.

Jamie Glastetter of Benton, Missouri, has received the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Glastetter is the daughter of Jim and Laurie Glastetter of Benton and will be a 2017 graduate of Scott City High School.

Andrea Hamm of Scott City has received the Governor's Scholarship and Governor's Housing Scholarship. Hamm is the daughter of Jackie and Karen Hamm of Scott City and will be a 2017 graduate of Jackson Senior High School.
