Army Sgt. Joseph D. Deimund has earned the Army Achievement Medal. The medal is awarded to those who while serving in any capacity with the Army in a combat or noncombat area have distinguished themselves by meritorious service or achievement. Deimund, an Army Reserve element unit administrator with five years of military service, is assigned to the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill. He is the son of Sonny P. and Joyce F. Deimund of Cape Girardeau and a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School.
