A monthly reading club, with car pooling available, has been started by Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church. The club is open to men and women of all religious denominations.

All book club members will read the same book and meet afterward to discuss it. You don't have to finish the book to attend.

A new book will be chosen for the next month at each meeting, and the club will meet four weeks later for discussion.

The first book is "The Shack," by William P. Young.

Copies can be purchased at area book stores or checked out from local libraries who have the book. Anyone with difficulty obtaining the book should contact Hobbs Chapel UMC at 334-3080; by e-mail, hobbschapelumc@yahoo.com or janetsue@showme.net or Linda Dedert at 334-1052, by e-mail, ldedert@semo.edu.

Provide your name, address, phone number and/or e-mail address and future book suggestions to the above contacts. You may also bring future book suggestions to the next meeting.

The first meeting will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Hobbs Chapel Church, 3024 State Highway 177.
