Hitting the high notes

Perryville public schools fifth graders in Becca Sides' music classes are learning to play recorders using a series of tests where they can earn "belts" if they advance to the next level. "Recorder Karate" rewards students with ribbons to tie around their instruments much like martial arts students earn belts for mastery of their art.
