Henderson completes Navy training

Navy Seaman Apprentice Jamie L. Henderson, son of Joanna L. and Virtice G. Henderson of Thebes, Ill., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training and was promoted to his current rank at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Henderson is a 2006 graduate of Egyptian High School of Tamms, Ill. During the eight-week program, Henderson completed a variety of training including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety, with an emphasis on physical fitness.
