Point to Point Run and Relay registration begins. HealthPoint Fitness will hold its Point to Point 9.5-Mile Run and Relay on Nov. 11. The course runs from HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau to HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson. Runners can run the entire race or use three runners in a relay-style race. Community Health Fair: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau. Free screenings and education various health topics will be available. Car seat safety, safety belt usage and bicycle safety will also be demonstrated. Free bicycle helmets and other health related items will be distributed. The Breastfeeding Support Group: From 11 a.m. to noon, in the Generations classroom at Southeast Missouri Hospital. The support group will meet the third Saturday of every month at that time. It is designed to provide a place for moms to share their concerns about breastfeeding and get the reassurance they need. Partners and support members are welcome. Each session will start with 15-20 minute educational component followed by an open forum. Melinda Alcorn-Hodges, ASCP, a Southeast Missouri Hospital Micro Lab employee and the mother of two children, will be the guest speaker at the October meeting.
Preparation for Childbirth Class: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Saint Francis Medical Center Registration Center. All-day comprehensive guide to expected bodily changes, labor signs and stages, pain control options, labor techniques and basic infant care. Tips on relaxing, positioning and breathing will also be discussed. Free. Lunch provided. Register by calling 877-231-BABY.

Southeast Hospice Memorial Service: At 2 p.m., at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a friend or family member. The Rev. Eric Snyder, Southeast Hospice chaplain, will conduct the service. Individuals may eulogize their loved ones through testimonials, poems or songs. Participants also are invited to bring framed pictures of their loved ones. Those who want to give a eulogy at the service should call 335-6208.
