Area residents are invited to participate in educational programs offered today and July 20 as part of Southeast Missouri Hospital's Walk'n Be Fit program in conjunction with West Park Mall.
The 30-minute program starts at 8 a.m. in the Steve and Barry wing of the mall near the customer service kiosk.
Coffee and snacks will be served. Preregistration is not required.
Today, dietitian Raina Childers will talk about "Fuel for Your Walk," and will discuss how to make healthy nutritional choices to fuel daily walking.
July 20, Janet Stewart will present "Walking Down Your Blood Sugar" and will talk about the impact exercise has on blood sugar and how walking can help control diabetes.
Participants may also take part in educational programs, work toward monthly walking challenges with prizes and keep a walking log.
The mall opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. For information, call 986-4406.
