Red Cross looking for blood

The Southeast Missouri chapter of the American Red Cross is ramping up efforts to spread the word to potential donors over the Labor Day weekend. All presenting donors between Friday Sept. 10 will receive an American Red Cross visor as a Holiday Hero thank-you incentive.

As of Monday morning, the entire region had only three units of B negative on its shelves and just over a half day of O negative. Donors are needed now through the holiday to make sure there is blood available for hospitals in times of emergencies.
