The Knights of Columbus Council 6420 will begin their weekly Lenten fish fry Friday at the hall, 28745 Highway 61 in Scott City. The dinners will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday during March and on April 7. The menu will include all-you-can-eat catfish, fried chicken, baked beans, slaw, hush puppies, potato wedges and drinks. The Zalma General Baptist Church in Zalma, Missouri, will hold a dinner and silent auction Saturday.

Saint Francis Medical Center conducts free heart and health screenings from 7 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday for Cape Girardeau County residents age 60 and older.
The screenings are performed in the Saint Martha Conference room in the Health and Wellness Center and include cholesterol, triglycerides, cardiac risk ratio, glucose and blood pressure. Results from the screening will be sent to the patient's primary care doctor. No appointments necessary.
