The Young Musicians' Scholarship Fund received a $1,600 donation recently from the City of Roses Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans supplementing donations from a "Messiah" concert held earlier this year. The total raised for the new scholarship fund was $4,500. The money will be used to promote church musicianship among the youth. Some of the scholarship funds will be directed to help these youth attend an annual Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival as well as support other music endeavors. Pictured are Eileen Schlichting (concert committee), Joyce Clark (Thrivent officer), Vicki Boren ("Messiah" choir director), Jayne Schrader (Thrivent Financial Representative), Hope Botwinski (concert committee) and Betty Voss (Thrivent chapter president).
