Christmas program at Hobbs Chapel

The Hobbs Chapel Christmas program will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 21. Music will be performed by Hand Picked, Play: "Away from the Manger." and puppets. Refreshments will follow. The chapel is at 3024 State Highway 177 in Cape Girardeau. More information is available by calling 573-334-0904.

Blood donation opportunities set

The American Red Cross announced several upcoming opportunities to donate blood. To encourage donations and show appreciation, all those who attempt to donate blood Dec. 24 through Jan. 4 will receive a long-sleeve Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

Heart, health screenings set

Heart and health screenings will be from 7 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Francis Health and Wellness Center, entrance 8. A heart screening, lipid profile plus glucose, is $29 and includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cardio risk ration plus glucose for diabetes. Also available are free blood-pressure screening; glucose screening, $6; and women's osteoporosis screening, $25.

Auxiliary to host bake sale

The Saint Francis Auxiliary will host a bake sale at 8 a.m. Friday in the Healing Arts Lobby of Saint Francis Medical Center, entrance 2.

Baby-sitting class scheduled

A baby-sitting class for boys and girls ages 11 to 13 will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 30 at Saint Francis Medical Center St. Clare Conference Room, entrance 8. The program covers having fun with children; recognizing and dealing with a medical emergency; injury prevention and safety; child and infant CPR; and the business of baby-sitting.
