The Safe House for Women will hold a lunch fundraiser, called Taco Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cape Church of the Nazarene, 2601 Independence St. in Cape Girardeau. Lunch will include three hard or soft tacos, chips and salsa, dessert and a drink for $8. Dine-in and carryout are available, as well as delivery to Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Scott City. Student registration for Kelly High School in benton will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City will host a fall dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the St. Joseph Parish Center. The buffet dinner will include kettle beef, chicken and dumplings, chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, slaw, dessert, tea and coffee. HealthPoint in Cape Girardeau will host a cooking class from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The class will focus on "ancient grains," which are growing in popularity because of their nutrition content and lack of processing. The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will offer a fall youth soccer league during September and October for children age 4 through eighth grade. Kindergarten through eighth grade teams will have an eight-game schedule, and the younger children will play five games. Registration ends Friday; cost is $50 for the older children and $35 for the younger ones. Registrations are accepted at the Arena Building and the Osage Centre and online at cityofcape.org/soccer. The Dutchman's Dash, consisting of a 5K run and a duathlon -- 14-mile bicycle road ride followed by a five-mile trail -- will be held at 7 a.m. Aug. 15 at the VFW, 217 S. Frisco St. in Chaffee. The goal is to raise money and awareness for the Walk to End Altzheimer's. Participants will receive complimentary shirt, beverage and bratwurst. The SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary will host a boutique sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 in the Harrison Room at SoutheastHEALTH. Merchandise will include rhinestone-decorated and monogrammed T-shirts, scarves, jewelry, purses, wallets and phone cases, as well as fashion items for St. Louis Cardinal and other sports fans. Purchases may be made by cash and credit/debit cards. Proceeds will benefit Southeast Hospital.
