Workshop for cancer patients

Southeast Cancer Center will host "Look Good ... Feel Better," a free, two-hour session for women who are battling cancer and undergoing treatment at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cancer Center. Participants will learn simple techniques for skin and nail care, makeup application and how to cope with hair loss. Nature Center to mark 10 years

The Missouri Department of Conservation Cape Girardeau Nature Center will mark its 10-year anniversary with a lineup of activities May 1 and 2. Wildheart will be in concert at 7 p.m. May 1, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 2 activities, which are free, will include native-plant gardening, wildlife identification, archery and more. Park concert dates announced

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band, marking its 115th season, recently announced the dates of its summer concerts. Director Ronald Nall is in his 23rd consecutive year as conductor. Participants are encouraged to bring seating and refreshments. A Memorial Day Ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. May 25 at the Osage Centre. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays June 3 through July 29 in the Capaha Park Band Shell. More information is available at cityofcapegirardeau.org/parks.

Women's prayer breakfast set

A Power of Women Prayer Breakfast will take place May 6 at Ray's Conference Center, 2157 William St. in Cape Girardeau. The event will feature Kim and Tracy of K& T Ministries. Doors will open at 5:45 a.m. and a buffet breakfast will begin at 6 a.m. The program will start at 6:30 a.m. Cost is $10 per person; a table of eight is $100 and includes recognition as a sponsor.
