Chaffee General Baptist Church will host its annual soup and chili dinner from noon to 2 p.m. today in the fellowship hall, 319 N. 5th St. in Chaffee, Missouri. The event will include all-you-can-eat soup and chili, dessert and a drink. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 10 and older and free for children 9 and younger.

Meals with Friends to be held

The Salvation Army’s Meals with Friends for Sept. 26 through 30 include:

Monday: Tacos

Tuesday: Baked barbecue chicken, veggies, bread and dessert

Wednesday: Breakfast casserole

Thursday: Turkey, stuffing and green bean casserole

Friday: Leftovers

Flu shots available

Broadway Prescription Shop will host flu vaccination clinics from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Jackson Senior Center, 2690 Travelers Way in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Cape Girardeau Senior Center, 921 N. Clark St. in Cape Girardeau. The pharmacy also will administer the flu vaccine daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its 710 Broadway location. Broadway Prescription Shop also provides vaccines against Zostavax for shingles and Prevnar and Pneumovax for pneumonia.

Regional quilt show to be held

The River Heritage Quilters’ Guild will host its Regional Quilt Show 2016 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2, at the Arena Building, 410 Kiwanis Drive in Cape Girardeau. Admission will cost $5 and the event will include a raffle for a quilt, vendors, youth quilts, demonstrations, bed turnings and more. Trinity Methodist Church homecoming set

The 39th annual Trinity Methodist Church and Cemetery Association homecoming will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 1, on the church grounds, 3 miles west of Delta on Highway N. The event will include a short business meeting, and the church will be open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. St. Paul car and craft show planned

St. Paul Lutheran Church will host a car, truck, motorcycle, tractor and craft show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the church, 223 W. Adams St. in Jackson. There will be a $15 entry fee for all vehicles to be judged, or a $12 entry fee for the non-judge category. Registration will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Judging will begin at 11 a.m. All cars and trucks must have hoods and trunks open and convertible tops up for the judges’ inspection. The event includes various craft booth, food in the cafeteria and music and games for all ages. Live music will be provided by St. Paul’s band, New Song, and Mark Rees. Farm-to-table dinner to be served

The River Heritage Tourism Association is working to promote agritourism in 13 counties throughout Southeast Missouri with its Catered Cotton Supper, which will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Langley Farm, 1 mile south of Essex, Missouri, on County Road KK. A wine tasting will begin at 4 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. The dinner will be catered by The Glenn of Mississippi County, Missouri. Tickets cost $60 per person and can be purchased by calling (573) 748-5510.

Pink Up Zumba Party to be held

Fitness Plus and Fitness Plus Dexter each will host a free Pink Up Zumba Party at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6, at the Cape Girardeau location, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road, and the Dexter, Missouri, location, 1212 Saint Francis Drive. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The event will include an evening of lively music and dancing in celebration of breast cancer survivors and their supporters. Donations will be accepted throughout the evening and Pink Up merchandise will be available for purchase.

Project Homeless Connect scheduled

Project Homeless Connect will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. The event will give attendees the opportunity to obtain birth certificates, driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, legal assistance, housing, education, employment resources, dental care, medical assessments and more. Free haircuts, showers, hygiene kits, groceries and lunch will be provided. A Kid’s Zone will be available for free child care. Free transportation also will be provided to the Osage Centre through CTA. All services are available at no cost to attendees. SoutheastHEALTH to host 2016 Share Walk

The 12th annual Share Walk: A Walk for Remembrance and Hope will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Cape County Park South, Pavilion No. 20, 2400 County Park Drive in Cape Girardeau. The Share Walk supports families who have experienced a pregnancy loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn loss. The event will include a one-mile walk around the Cape County South Park Lake followed by a short memorial service. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is free for all wishing to participate. Paul Webber memorial 5K to be held

The second annual 5K run/walk benefiting Paul Webber’s memorial scholarship fund will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Jackson High School football stadium, 315 S. Missouri St. in Jackson. Registration will cost $30 for adults and $15 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on race day.
