Community invited to offer well wishes for Special Olympics

The Special Olympics Missouri Outdoor State Championship Games will be Aug. 12 to 14 in Cape Girardeau. Hundreds of Special Olympic athletes and their families will be in Cape Girardeau for the games. The community is invited to sign a Wall of Well Wishes at the Southeast Missourian. The wall will be available for the public to sign inside the Missourian building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Wednesday. It will be displayed at the opening ceremonies to show the athletes and their families the area's support.

Kids' Fun Day held in Scott City in honor of Anne Smith's memory

The Scott City SCIPP program will honor Anne Smith's memory with a free Kids' Fun Day in the Park with a bouncy house and other activities from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Children ages 7 to 12 can sign up at Scott City City Hall, the park office or online at www.scottcityscipp.com. Must sign up by Monday. For more information, call 264-2322.

Benefit for Jacque Waller's children planned at Tractors

A benefit for Jacque Waller's triplets will be Tuesday at Tractors in Jackson. The Jackson mother has been missing since June. The fundraiser will include face painting, a root beer float station, order forms for Justice for Jacque T-shirts and bracelets, raffles and more. The benefit will be from 5 to 9 p.m. For more information, call 243-0340.
