Fairview General Baptist Church in Advance, Mo., will host a revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with Evangelist Brother Kenny Burchard. Each night will feature a different singer: Don Hester on Monday; Janie Brown and the Chesnut Mountain Gang on Tuesday; Lowell and Kathy Fish on Wednesday; Jennifer Krepps on Thursday; and Crossroads on Friday.
The Safe House for Women will host a community open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14. The event will take place at its new outreach office and thrift store, 230 N. Sprigg St. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to tour the facility and meet new executive director Michelle Beggs Scherer.
Jason Lindsey, the host of "Hooked on Science," will be at the Discovery Playhouse on Aug. 13 and at the Cape Riverfront Market on Sept. 18 for hands-on science experiments.
German Day fish fry set for Friday
The Chaffee, Mo., Senior Center, 800 S. Main St., will host a German Day fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Plate dinner costs $5 and includes three pieces of fish, dessert and drink. The cost for an all-you-can-eat is $8.50. Carry-outs are available. The fundraiser benefits the Meals on Wheels program.
