The Maevers family reunion will be at noon June 28 at pavilion 2 in the Jackson City Park. Family members are asked to bring a covered dish and lawn chairs.

Best Breaded Pork Loin Contest deadline extended

The deadline for the second annual Missouri Best Breaded Pork Loin Contest has been extended until Friday. Participants must be a full-time Missouri restaurant, cafe or tavern that serves breaded or battered pork loin sandwiches. The winning restaurant will receive a plaque in recognition of the award, a $500 check and statewide publicity enhanced by a live radio remote, where possible. Schrock family to hold reunion

The Schrock family will be getting together June 27 at Cape County Park North shelter No. 8. The gathering will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a potluck lunch. In addition to bringing a potluck dish, family members should also bring old photos and stories they would like to share. Fitness Plus summer camps available

During June and July, Fitness Plus will be offering seven weeklong day camp sessions for children ages 7 to 12. The sessions will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The first session started June 1. There are also Peewee Camp sessions, which are half-day events from Wednesday to Friday and are designed for children 3 to 6 years old. Both camp sessions offer age-appropriate, structured recreational games, arts and crafts, and fitness activities such as basketball, all based around a weekly theme. Child care is available before and after camp hours. All camp sessions have limited space, so parents must register their children early. HealthPoint Fitness holding children's camps

There are four camps sponsored by HealthPoint Fitness remaining this summer. All camps are offered for ages 5 to 12, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. "Jungle 5 in 1" will have campers participating in water games and taking daily field trips. "Camp Whatchamacalit" is a one-day camp with a surprise theme. "Jivin' in the Jungle" will involve bowling and swimming among the activities to keep children moving all day long. "Jungle Zone" is a one-day camp that involves spud, silent ball and an obstacle course. "Jungle 5 in 1" costs $120 a child and includes a T-shirt, field trips and lunch on three days. The other camps cost $22. There are limited spots available at each of these camps. To register, call 243-2211.

Jackson High class of '69 reunion to be held in July

The Jackson High School class of 1969 will have its reunion July 17 and 18. There will be a get together Friday night. On Saturday, there will be a breakfast, a tour of Jackson High School and a dinner party at Water's Edge.
