Several sites in Southeast Missouri are accepting donations for victims of the tornado that ripped through Joplin, Mo., May 22. The Southeast Missouri Food Bank at 3920 Nash Road will take cleaning products, bottled water and canned and packaged foods. Smartstyle inside the Cape Girardeau Walmart will accept clothing, household supplies, baby formula, pet food and nonperishable food and drinks for staff and company members who lost things. To donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, call 800-733-2767. To donate to long-term recovery efforts, visit United Way of Southeast Missouri's website and click "give" or text JOPLIN to 864833 to donate $10 to the Heart of Missouri United Way.

Church breakfast helps Hotop family cover medical expenses

St. Joseph Parish Hall in Apple Creek will hold a benefit breakfast from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 12. Money raised from a freewill offering taken at the meal will help with medical expenses of Katie Hotop, daughter of Ron and Connie Hotop. The parish hall is at 138 St. Joseph Lane, Apple Creek. Roadshow sets up shop seeking antiques, collectibles

The Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow will set up shop Tuesday through Saturday in Cape Girardeau. The company will accept antiques and collectibles at the Holiday Inn Express. It buys vintage jewelry, war items, sports memorabilia, guitars, pocket watches and any other odd or end that might be worth something. The roadshow is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
