SEMO Potter's Clay is hosting a Cape Girardeau LWML Zone women in mission celebration April 19 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, 1904 West Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau. Registration is at 12:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 1 p.m. Nancy Cattour will be the guest speaker, and Bible study will be led by the Rev. Marty Hasz. Lawson's Run, Walk, or Crawl Ya'll 5K will take place March 28 in downtown East Prairie, Missouri. Proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association. The course will include a 5K run, a one-mile walk and a fun run for children. The course is a flat, mostly smooth, paved road, and the race will be timed by Cape Girardeau Road Runners.
Trophies will be awarded to overall best male and female runners, and prizes will be awarded to the top three runners in each age group. Day-of registration will begin at 7 a.m.; the fun run will start at 8 a.m., and the race will follow. Adult registration is $25 per person, and includes a T-shirt; children's fun run registration is $5 and includes a dog tag for the first 100 registrations. Sportsmen Under The Influence will host an outdoor weekend March 28 and 29 at the Assembly of God Church in Scott City, beginning with its Saturday wildlife supper. Doors will open at 4 p.m., and activities will include a meal, site auction, door prizes, gun raffle and giveaways. Taxidermists, call-makers and other vendors will be on hand. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted. The speaker will be turkey caller Billy Yargus. The Rev. Perryville's annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 11 a.m. March 28 at Perrvylle City Park. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be taken from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Perry Park Center, with a free photo for each family. The hunt -- with more than 4,000 eggs -- is divided into age groups. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with play beginning at 7 p.m. Food from Dexter Bar-B-Q will be available and there will be a cash bar. Teams should have six to eight members; cost is $15 registered and paid before April 3, and $20 per person thereafter.
