Sibling class

Southeast Hospital's sibling class will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 6 and 20 in the hospital's Harrison Room. The class is designed to help children prepare, in a positive way, for the addition of a new family member. The class is geared toward children ages 3 to 9. Class size is limited. Kids yoga

Kids yoga will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 at HealthPoint Jackson and from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at HealthPoint Cape Girardeau. The class is designed to help strengthen growing bodies, stretch muscles and improve balance and coordination. The class is open to children ages 7 to 12. The cost is $20 per four-week session. Bosom Buddies

The Bosom Buddies breast cancer support group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 at HealthPoint Cape Girardeau. The group is open to all women who have or have had breast cancer. No resolutions will be made at this month's meeting, but suggestions will be offered. A special activity is planned, and refreshments will be served. Bariatric support group

The bariatric support group will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 18 at HealthPoint Cape Girardeau. The session will cover a variety of topics including meal planning, nutrition, behavior change, motivation, exercise and fitness. For more information, contact dietitian Raina Childers at 573-986-4440.

Healthy cooking class

The healthy cooking class will meet from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Jan. 20 at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. HealthPoint Nutritional Services Coordinator Raina Childers will present recipes. Cost is $3 for HealthPoint members and $5 for nonmembers. Call 573-986-4440 to register.

Parents' night out

HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau will hold parents' night out from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 24 for ages 2 to 12. Parents will be able leave their children at HealthPoint Fitness to participate in a variety of games, activities and crafts. Supper will be provided. The cost is $10 per child for HealthPoint members and $15 per child for nonmembers. To register your child, call 573-986-4400.

Ag Expo 2014 comes to Poplar Bluff in January

One of the largest farm trade shows in the region, Ag Expo 2014, is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Jan. 24 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Mo. This is the 28th year of Ag Expo, a free event sponsored by Butler County University of Missouri Extension Council and the Ag Club of Three Rivers College. There will be 118 booths, and the expo will also feature outdoor exhibits. Entertainment and events at the expo will include gospel, jazz and contemporary music; line dancing and clogging; beauty pageants; and agriculture seminars. There will also be a tractor- driving contest for FFA members; petting farm; an old-time auction; a milking contest; ag photography contest; a baking contest; and many other events.
