River Corridor Task Force changes name
The River Corridor Task Force recently changed its name to River Corridor Connections and formed a subcommittee on housing issues in the south Cape Girardeau and Red Star neighborhoods. Formed in 2007, the River Corridor Task Force aimed to organize a group of leaders from the south Cape and Red Star communities to develop and execute strategies and plans to improve the lives of youth in the River Corridor. One of the functions of the group identified during its formation was to serve as a coordinating group to bring together the various groups, services and organizations wishing to impact the neighborhoods -- connecting people with programs and each other for the benefit of all involved. For more information about the group contact Nancy Jernigan at the United Way, 334-9634; Stafford Moore at Procter & Gamble, 332-3734, or Mike Bowers at the Salvation Army, 335-7000.
