Account set up for donations

An account has been set up at First State Bank and Trust in Sikeston, Mo., for Matthew Jaynes. Jaynes, a Chaffee, Mo., resident, lost his possessions in a recent fire at his home.

Annual Helping Hands program

The Chaffee, Mo., Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Helping Hands program with help from area businesses to create a memorable Christmas for children from newborns to sixth-graders who attend the Chaffee school system. The chamber contacts parents from a list to see if they will participate. Instead of taking the children shopping, a Helping Hands party with Santa will be held. Donations are still being sought.
