On Nov. 3, the Jackson Recycling Center at 508 Sawyer Lane will begin its fall and winter hours of operation. The center will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but the Saturday business hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a city news release. This seasonal schedule will continue through March 2019. St. Lawrence Parish will hold a fall dinner and country store from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the St. Lawrence Parish Center in New Hamburg, Missouri. On the menu: turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, slaw, buttered potatoes, green beans, drink and homemade desserts. Adults $10, Children 6-12 $5, children 5 and under free. Meal will be served buffet style. Carry-outs available.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday for the Cape Girardeau County Justice Center, an 82,000-square-foot courthouse and underground parking facility, at the corner of North Missouri and West Washington streets in Jackson, adjacent to the County Sheriff's Department.
