Jackson Recycling Center winter hours

On Nov. 3, the Jackson Recycling Center at 508 Sawyer Lane will begin its fall and winter hours of operation. The center will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but the Saturday business hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a city news release. This seasonal schedule will continue through March 2019. St. Lawrence Parish Dinner

St. Lawrence Parish will hold a fall dinner and country store from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the St. Lawrence Parish Center in New Hamburg, Missouri. On the menu: turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, slaw, buttered potatoes, green beans, drink and homemade desserts. Adults $10, Children 6-12 $5, children 5 and under free. Meal will be served buffet style. Carry-outs available.

Justice Center groundbreaking

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday for the Cape Girardeau County Justice Center, an 82,000-square-foot courthouse and underground parking facility, at the corner of North Missouri and West Washington streets in Jackson, adjacent to the County Sheriff's Department.
