The second annual Beautiful Blessings Beauty Pageant will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 26 at Jackson Middle School in Jackson. This is a beauty pageant for developmentally disabled individuals, both male and female, from birth to teens. Bowling For Freedom at West Park Lanes
Bowling For Freedom, a fundraiser to help children who have been the victims of child slavery and trafficking, will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at West Park Lanes in Cape Girardeau. The event will cost $10 per person which includes shoes, two games of bowling and a ticket for a raffle to be held later. Five to six people will be allowed per team. Carbondale Farmers Market new location
The Carbondale Community Farmers Market will be in operation at the Carbondale Community High School Giant City Road parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. This permanent move will be the home of the Farmers Market outdoor market until Nov. 2. On Nov. 9 the market will begin its winter season and move inside the west wing of the Carbondale Community High School. The hours of operation during the winter season will be from 9 a.m. to noon. The American Red Cross has begun its annual Holiday Mail for Heroes program and is inviting everyone to send holiday cards to those who serve our country, veterans and their families by Dec. 6. To ensure that cards are delivered in time for the holidays, they must be postmarked no later than Dec. 6. Individuals are asked to refrain from sending letters, monetary donations or any other kinds of inserts with the cards. Please also refrain from using glitter.
