Community Counseling Center, a not-for-profit comprehensive behavioral health and prevention organization, recently announced Charles Holt has been selected to serve on its foundation board of directors. Holt retired in 2006 after an extensive career in education in the Bernie R-XIII School District as an educator and counselor. He has been involved in counseling organizations on the state and national levels. He lives in Jackson.

The United in Christ Lutheran School PTL will host a supper from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the school gymnasium, 10172 Route C in Frohna, Missouri. The menu will include fried chicken, fried jack salmon, green beans, corn, German potato salad, slaw and desserts. Carryout will be available. A free-will donation will be accepted.
Discovery Playhouse will host Breakfast with the Bunnies from 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 28 at the playhouse, 502 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Parents and children are invited to the breakfast of pancakes and sausages provided by IHOP Restaurant. Children may pose for photos with the Easter Bunny and play with chicks and rabbits, donated by Buchheit. Admission is $8 per person if registered by March 20, and $10 per person thereafter. Zion United Methodist Church, west of Gordonville in Cape Girardeau County, will host several speakers during Lent on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m., as follows: March 11, Melissa Stickel, director of community development United Way of Southeast Missouri with musical guest Exit 111, proceeds to the United Way; March 18, Wayne Elfrink, client services specialist, SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence with musical guest Stones Cry, proceeds to SADI; and March 25, John Jordan, Cape Girardeau County sheriff with musical guest Leevon DeCourley ​of Pure Country C106, proceeds to Zion's pastor's discretionary fund that helps local people in need. SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary will host a book fair March 19 and 20 at Southeast Hospital. The fair will be held in the hospital's Harrison Room from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 19 and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 20. The fair will feature best-sellers, children's books, cookbooks, educational materials and electronics. There also will be prize registration. Proceeds from the sale will benefit patient care at Southeast Hospital.
The Shamrock 360 Indoor Triathlon will be held March 28 at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. It will consist of 10 minutes of swimming, 30 minutes of cycling on stationary bikes and 20 minutes of running on treadmills. First wave of participants will begin at 8 a.m., followed by a new wave every 15 minutes. Early registration fee is $25 per person; $60 per team. After March 9, registration will be $30 per person or $75 per team. Payment is required at sign-up. Early registrations are encouraged, as space is limited. SoutheastHEALTH Foundation will host a princess tea March 28 at The Plaza by Ray's in Cape Girardeau. There will be a 10 a.m. session and a 2 p.m. session. Proceeds will benefit SoutheastHEALTH Pediatrics, Obstetrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Tickets are $240 for a table of eight. The cost of an individual ticket is $25. Princess makeover tickets are $10 each. Appointments will be scheduled at the time of ticket purchase.
