Tell me about your first paying job. Jobs -- soda jerk and paper routes. I jerked at Hayden's Drugstore in Caruthersville in 1947 and 1948, and I had two paper routes. How would you rate your ability to manage money? Good. But my wife is better at it. She does the managing; we're conservative. It was what I expected. I was a stock guy at Kmart. It was a lot of hours, but it wasn't too bad. How would you rate your ability to manage money? On a scale of one to 10, I'd say about a six or seven. I'm bad with the impulse buy, but, other than that, pretty good.
