Former Southeast Missouri State University student Danielle Lewon is the recent recipent of 2010 Arthur H. Mattingly Award in Historic Preservation award from the Historic Preservation Association, department of history and the Historic Preservation program at Southeast. The Arthur H. Mattingly Award is awarded to a graduate of the Department of History's Historic Preservation Program who has shown credit to the program through distinguished professional achievements in the field of historic preservation. Lewon earned a bachelor of science degree in historic preservation from Southeast Missouri State University and completed a master of science degree in historic preservation from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently a cultural resource specialist II at the Mannik and Smith Group in Detroit, assisting the Detroit Historic District Commission and manager of the Detroit Commercial Facade Improvement Grant Program. She also has had experiences with the Ohio Building Restoration, Section 106 Reviews in Toledo, Ohio, and the Felix Valle State Historic Site in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
