During October, the Oran Lady Eagles volleyball team collected a total of $130 for breast cancer awareness. With the help of the American Cancer Society of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Freed from the Scott County Health Department, the Lady Eagles had a breast cancer information table set up at all home games in October. The table consisted of self-check lists, pocket calendars, tote bags, breast cancer bracelets, pink ribbon pins and pink hats. The breast cancer awareness table also had a black donation box that was adorned with pink ribbons and bows and matched a bulletin board in the high school. By making a monetary donation to the American Cancer Society, individuals were able to put their name or family's name on a volleyball that was placed on the "Diggin' For A Cure" bulletin board. At the end of the month there were a total of 51 volleyballs on the bulletin board.
