Couple receives volunteer award

At a recent Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary dinner, volunteers reaching service milestones and award recipients were honored; new officers were elected. Volunteers Dick and Helen Hammond received the Ilena Asiln Auxiliary Service Award at the annual recognition dinner for their many contributions to the auxiliary. The Ilena Aslin Auxiliary Service Award was established in 2004 to pay tribute to the dedicated service given to the hospital by Aslin and to continue her spirit of service to others. Helen Hammond has been a volunteer since 1993; Dick joined the auxiliary in 2001.
