ALA Unit 63 met Aug. 10. Linda Kern won both the monthly raffle and the attendance prize.

The auxiliary charter was draped, announcing the death of Doris Langston.

A card was signed by all members, "Missing you, Madeline Hente." A thank-you card was signed for Bob Seabaugh, who made and donated the porch swing raffled off at the Fourth of July picnic.

Officers for 2016-2017 were installed: president, Linda Kern; vice president, Barbara Yallaly; secretary, Mildred Varvell; treasurer, Donna Hinze; historian, Shirley Young; sergeant at arms, Muriel Day, and chaplain, Catherine Allison. Members at large were charged to speak words of encouragement to these newly elected officers.

Vicki Watling reported on the S.A.L.T. meeting. All were encouraged to attend an informational workshop on Sept. 8 at the Eagles Club.

Shirley Young was recognized at the ALA state convention in Kansas City, Missouri, for the scrapbook she compiled of our Unit 63 activities.

Donna Hinze attended the district A.L. meeting in Dexter, Missouri. Our district won 21 awards, with best "Poppy" report prepared by Linda Kern.

Linda spoke on the traditional assist to Jefferson Elementary School. More on this next meeting.
