Kage FCE
The Kage Family and Community Club met July 11 at Cape Girardeau Senior Center. Jobyna Daume, president, called the meeting to order.
Devotion was lead by Barbara Marshall; a prayer recited by all regarding the upcoming primary and general election. We prayed to better understand the issues; to use our eyes to see the troubles in our country and ears to hear cries of people who are abused and neglected.
Marshall led the group in singing “God Bless America” in honor of Independence Day.
Judie Herbst presented the program on the American Flag and Independence Day. She tested our knowledge with a quiz on both and we discussed the answers. Daume gave members additional information on the Declaration of Independence.
The club's project this month is Adult & Teen Challenge Mid-America. Boxes of cake mixes, brownies and frosting were collected and will be presented to them by Sarah Ross and Daume.
Next month, the project will the Big Brother/Sister organization. There will be a speaker to give us details about their group. Gift cards are being collected.
