How about those Rams.

That seems to be a common greeting among long-beleaguered fans of the St. Louis Rams. The Rams had held the dubious honor of being the most losing football franchise during the 1990s. They recently passed the torch to the Cincinnati Bengals as the most futile franchise.

Enthused Ram fans are happy to talk about the newly charged Rams at any moment. They also want to read any speck of copy written about the team. Believe me, I know. I have one at home.

The Internet can provide some great opportunities to learn more about the team and share their enthusiasm with folks across the United States or globe for that matter.

First let me say that several of the Rams sites, including the official site and the NFL.com site, were extremely busy. It took several tries over an extended period of time to get in. Apparently, the ranks of Rams fans are growing fast.www.stlouisrams.comThe official Rams site offers a number of top stories from Sundays game, including more on Marshall Faulks role in the victory, the fact the Rams remain unbeaten, a story about London Fletcher taking a toll on defense, and the fact that Isaac Bruce has won NFL and Miller Lite Player-of-the-Week honors.

You can also look at the schedule, view the photo pick of the week or order your Rams tickets online.

Unlike the team, this site isn't very deep. But there's lots more about the Rams on the Web.www.nfl.comThe National Football League site is filled with all kinds of information on every team. You can read the stories, take a poll or watch the Top 10 plays of Week 6 through RealVideo.

You can catch up on all the team standings and plays. Read the latest stats or view some NFL films, including highlight reels, previews and NFL film archives for 1999 or 1998.

On the main page, you can jump ahead to every NFL week to see the matchups ahead.

If you click on the Rams, you can read more about the team, including RealVideo and RealAudio from the coaches and players. You can also look at their Heroes of the Week, or take the poll: Who deserves the Rams' game ball for Week 6? Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk, Tony Horne, Kurt Warner or Grant Wistrom? Who would you chose.

The Sporting News also has a good site on the Rams if youre ready to read more.www.sportingnews.com/nfl/teams/ramsThere's a nice story about the Sunday game, but you can also look at such specifics as depth chart, team roster/bios, schedule, Rams stats and team report archives. You can also read an injury report.

They also grade the offense, defense, special teams and coaching. See if you agree.

They offer positional analysis for you armchair quarterbacks, and again give a grade for every position -- from quarterback to offensive line, from linebackers to defense backs. There's a spot to chat about this report or post a message. There are message boards for each team, but the chat is for football in general. You need the ichat program to play, I mean, chat. Many of the Rams games can be seen on Fox Sports and their Web site can offer some insight into the teams success.foxsports.comCheck out "On the NFL," by former NFL coaching great Don Shula. He writes how the St. Louis team is "ramming it to the NFL." If you're a fan, you'll really like the lead: "The St. Louis Rams are proving every week that they are a legitimate playoff contender and a very good football team." Here. Here.

There's also several free games you can play online, if you can't get your fill on Sunday. You can try to pick the winners of each game in Fox Pro Pix, or be the CEO of your own league at Fox Fantasy Front Office. You can play against your friends or join a league in Full Fantasy Football, or you can challenge yourself by trying to build a title team under a salary cap in Salary Cap Challenge.

One of my husband's favorite places for sports is ESPN, which combines tongue-in-cheek humor with scores. You can find out more about the Rams at their Web site:espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouses/stl.htmlYou can take a look at the Week 6 scoreboard, infirmary report or team wrap-up. They also offer "The Way We Hear It," which provides an inside scoop on the Rams and the rest of NFL from Pro Football Weekly.

You can also read Football Weekly's "Whispers from around the league" under the News and Features link.

Of course, there is a lot of information about player stats, roster, transactions, depth chart and message board. You can also link to extensive coverage of all the NFL teams or other sports.

CNN and Sports Illustrated also provide some extensive information on St. Louis football favorites atcnnsi.com/football/nfl/teams/ramsYou can look ahead to the next game, the Cleveland Browns with the matchup. You can also look back at the team headlines, including an odd story about how Sage may have removed the Rams curse. Sage.

This site also offers a quick guide for statistical leaders, team notes, team links and information on all players. It's pretty comprehensive.

What's your favorite Rams site? E-mail me at click@semissourian.com.

See you in cyberspace.
