WASHINGTON -- More than 90 Civil War sites in 21 states will get a spring cleaning April 1, when history buffs and other volunteers turn out for "Park Day," a nationwide effort to maintain and preserve historic sites.

Now in its 10th year, the cleanup effort is organized by the Civil War Preservation Trust, underwritten with a grant from the History Channel, and recognized by the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Volunteers do everything from raking leaves and removing garbage to painting signs and building trails. This year's sites include Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield in Georgia, Perryville Battlefield in Kentucky, and Chancellorsville Battlefield in Virginia.
