Gospel concert at Cape Community Church

Jonathan Martin, nationally known gospel singer, and the duo Ponder and Sykes will be in concert from 6 to 9 p.m. May 19 on the church lawn, 2222 Bloomfield Road in Cape Girardeau. Martin has appeared at Carnegie Hall, The White House and on the 700 Club, along with the Gaither Homecoming Series. Ponder and Sykes have worked with many artists like the Gaithers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Dottie Rambo and Mark Lowry. The concert is free. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the Southern Gospel music.

Bible school sign-up now at First Baptist Churc

Sign-up has started now for Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Bible school will be held June 18 through 22. Call the church office at 335-6006 to register.

Tour de Sem bike ride today in Perryville

The third annual Tour de Sem of Concordia Seminary will be at 7: 30 a.m. today. Participants -- including faculty, staff, students, spouses and friends from the seminary community -- will bicycle 95 miles from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia, Ill., through east Perry County, to the original site of Concordia Seminary. The bicycle tour will be hosted by the Perry County Lutheran Historical Society. The group will have a full tour of the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum in Altenburg before returning home.

Delta church has revival starting May 11

The Church of God of Prophecy, on Wilson Street in Delta, will host a revival with evangelist William F. Jones Friday to May 13. The revival will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and May 12 and at 10:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. May 13. Special singing will be at each service.
